Mounted Combat
A mount extends a hero's movement and may bring attacks of its own. While linked, it acts through Command during the hero's turn, not through a full independent turn.
Command and attacks
Use Command to direct the mount while its rider acts. Flying mounts such as dragons, drakes and dracoliches have their own attacks: bite, claw and breath where available. Check the mount's creature entry for its attack options.
Thrown from the saddle
A mounted hero who becomes prone is knocked out of the saddle if still alive. That hero can still Command on their turn.
If the hero dies, the link ends. The mount stays and takes no further actions; it does not start acting freely or take a full turn by instinct.
Grounded riders
A grounded Large rider occupies a 2 × 2 or larger footprint and follows the oversized terrain rules: rock and similar crossable obstacles count as rough ground at half speed. Trees, walls and buildings still block ground movement.
