Gates
A gate has its own hit points and hardness, separate from the wall blocks around it, and is built to be tougher than they are (wall blocks: palisade 40 HP / hardness 10, stone 56 HP / hardness 15; see Wall Construction). Its material improves as the walls rise, and the gate doors take on a new look at each material step: levels 5, 10, 15 and 20.
| Wall levels | Gate material | HP | Hardness |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–4 | Palisade (log) | 60 | 10 |
| 5–9 | Wood | 60 | 15 |
| 10–14 | Steel | 120 | 20 |
| 15–19 | Adamantine | 180 | 25 |
| 20 | Orichalcum | 240 | 30 |
At levels 1–2 the gate is a plain log gate, 5 × 5 × 5 ft. At levels 3–4 it sits in a log gatehouse, 20 × 15 × 15 ft. Larger gatehouse sizes are on the Towers & Gatehouses scroll.
